Washing improves health
A PUBLIC LAUNDRY CAN IMPROVE THE HEALTH
Of A WHOLE COMMUNITY
“We are truly excited about the potential to create lasting change to the health of people living in community”. Steve Smith, AIG CEO.
Nasty bacteria can be slowed and even stopped with regular washing of bedding, clothes and towels. Rheumatic heart disease, trachoma and skin sores are at inexcusable levels in Aboriginal communities and the kids are the worst affected. With your support our laundries can be part of the solution.

HELP US RUN THE LAUNDRY
Washing clothes and bedding in Aboriginal communities is harder than you might think. Overcrowding creates daily challenges for people trying to wash their family’s clothes and bedding. A public laundry where people can rely on working machines, water, power and detergent helps to overcome these challenges and can break the cycle of disease and sickness common in Aboriginal communities.
Help us to run this vital service by donating:
Laundry detergent for
Costs to pay one laundry employee for one day
Electricity to power 100 wash and 100 dry cycles
We have been working with AIG to get a laundry in our community to wash our blankets, sheets and school uniforms.
