We were thrilled to demonstrate first-hand our Remote Laundries project in action when we received a visit from one of our partners, Nestlé Professional Australia, represented by General Manager, Kristina Czepl.

Each one of the 30 000 cycles has contributed to the incredible reduction of scabies infections by up to 60 per cent, a crucial step in reducing the prevalence of rheumatic heart disease (RHD), a 100 per cent preventable condition in remote communities.
Our Remote Laundries project was privileged to join forces with the National Heart Foundation of Australia at the Barunga Festival this year to share knowledge about skin health for heart health.

At this year’s Barunga Festival, the Laundry provided a health promotion hub as we joined forces with our partner, the National Heart Foundation of Australia. Together we shared knowledge about the importance of skin health for heart health.
We could not do what we do without the support of individuals, such as Dr David Bertholini, an incredible supporter who has donated monthly since 2020. Find out what motivated him to contribute to the Remote Laundries project.
Since 2021, Dr Gokula Chandran has been visiting our Casuarina laundry. But it’s not just to do his washing. Armed with a coffee or two, Chandran started visiting the laundry and quickly struck up a good relationship with Sam and the team, and they have been friends since.
Sam was our first Darwin laundry attendant. Very quickly, Sam became instrumental in the success of the laundry. Take the time to read his story and you will see for yourself.
Opened in 2019, the Barunga laundry was the Remote Laundries pilot program. Four years later, the community cannot imagine life without it.
